Instructions
Mix (in a bowl) the flour, the sugar, the baking powder.
Add the water and whisk all the ingredients into velvety dough. Separate the dough into small balls, dredge them with flour and then take one ball and make a pie crust. Separate every pie crust to pieces (square or rectangle). Press in the middle of the rectangle so as to figure a bow. Dip the bows one by one in hot corn oil. Flip the bow quickly to the other side, with a spoon before it turns brown, remove it and then put it in a platter. We do the same for the rest of the bows. If we cut rectangles, when we dip them in the corn oil we must roll the rectangle with a spoon (this is the traditional shape of diples). We then prepare the syrup: we put all the ingredients in a saucepan and boil them. When the syrup is ready we dip every bow to the syrup for 4- 5 seconds and remove it to a platter. At the end we sprinkle them with chopped wall nuts and sesame.
